Comm 321 Poster

This poster was created to announce the creations of a new degree being offered from the Mass Media and Strategic Communications department realignment.

 

The poster was created in Adobe Illustrator, and contains vector images. Dark blue and orange were used as the primary colors for this project as they are UT Martins colors. White was used as a highlighter. Dark blue and orange create a powerful contrast that captures viewers’ attention and creates a sense of visual interest. 

 

Orange circles were used to bring unity, to the new degree being offered. The use of circles also draws the viewers eye to the rhythm circles create and move the viewers eye across the page from one circle to the next. The circles also help break down the two paths that are being offered and what sequences are offered under each path. 

 

The font family American Typewrite was used throughout the poster to convey professionalism and tradition. The typeface is versatile so it can be read and recognized at different sizes, weights, and styles. It was used in the headlines, and body copy of the poster. It also adds texture to the poster with its vintage slab serif typewriter feel.
